AISES is pleased to announce that we will begin accepting applications for travel scholarships to this year’s National Conference in Denver, CO September 21-23, 2017.
Awards will vary in amount and are meant to help cover the following expenses: roundtrip airfare, lodging, and conference registration. Any remaining funds after those items will help to cover other associated travel costs.
Once an award is made, AISES will:
Meals that are not provided at the conference, parking fees, and transportation to and from the airport are the student’s responsibility. Likewise, expenses that exceed the scholarship amount are the student’s responsibility. AISES will provide lodging for four (4) nights: September 20, 21 22, and 23, 2017.
Travel scholarship winners must attend all events and abide by the AISES Code of Conduct. Failure to attend all scheduled events and violating the AISES Code of Conduct will result in the forfeiture of all or a portion of the scholarship. View the AISES code of conduct.
Eligible students must be pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Students must be enrolled as full-time students in their field of study during Fall 2017.
Applicants MUST meet all of the following criteria:
Application Deadline: Applications and supporting documents (including letters of recommendation) must be submitted and received online by July 15, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MT.
Notification of scholarship awards will be made no later than August 11, 2017. If you have not heard from AISES by then, please call or email (preferred).
All applications are submitted online, through the AISES Award Spring website: http://aises.awardspring.com/.
If you have already applied for AISES Scholarships in 2017, you are almost done: Log-on to your account and complete the follow up item, an essay about why you want to attend the AISES National Conference.
If this is your first time using the AISES Scholarship platform, you will set up an account, complete a general application, and, once that is complete, you will be able to view the “2017 National Conference Travel Scholarship” and you can add your essay about why you want to attend.
Please be aware that AISES does not inform students if their applications are incomplete or if letters of recommendation have not been received by the system. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that requested and appropriate documentation has been uploaded into the system and received. Likewise, the applicant must follow-up with references, registrar’s offices, etc., to ensure they are aware of deadlines and to allow sufficient time to get required documents in time. To keep the process fair and equitable, no exceptions are made for missed deadlines, as other applicants have worked hard to get their info in on time.
